EARLY HISTORY OF WOODSTOCK
My father was the first supervisor of Woodstock. He was'elected when Woodstock and Cambridge were detatched from Franklin and assumed their rightful corporate independence in 1835 or 1836. The canvas was a quiet one, and the ballots, big with after consequences, were deposited in a hat kindly loaned by one of the new citizens of the town for the occasion.
