The text of his last sermon, Up get ye out of this place, for the Lord will destroy
it, " showed that he was not hopeful of good from staying longer. Possibly he might have feared that the sad doom of the " cities of the plain" might be repeated by their wicked village, and to save himself, as possibly he might not be included among the righteous, it were best to make good his escape, and so he did.
