Pioneer Ministers of Washtenaw Co.
Zarah H. Coston was the first presiding elder who visited Ann Arbor and the churches in this county. Of him but little is said in history.
A change was made in the presiding elders in 1829, and Mr. Coston was transferred to the Pittsburg Conference and
CURTIS GODDARD
was appointed to the Detroit district. The history says of Mr. Goddard that he was "an excellent and worthy man. " He continued on the district three years. He located in 1834 and had served the church as a minister twenty years.
