On motion of 0. Poppleton, the corresponding secretary was requested to convey to Mr. Sherman Stevens the thanks of this society for his valuable paper, and, on motion of Albert Miller, the society voted to present Mr. Stevens with a copy of the volume of the Pioneer Collections that will contain his paper when published.
An outline of the march of the 15th U. S. Infantry, from Vera Cruz to the City of Mexico, 1847, and of some of the ungazetted heroes of company E of that regiment, by Col. Isaac D. Toll, was read by T. E. Wing.
Mr. George Spangler rendered a violin solo, with a piano accompaniment.
