The boats and the barge fired upon the Indians, but could not do them any harm, because the Indians took cover behind the enclosures of the farms. The two boats and the barge returned to the fort at six o'clock, not having accomplished anything. At ten o'clock in the evening the Ottawas came and fired some random shots upon the fort. Monday, July 25. The Ottawas, occupied with the council, which should have taken place the day before, and was adjourned to this day, neglected the fort, and went to the Huron village at the demand of the Cat and Wolf chiefs.
