Extract of a letter from the Secretary of State, dated 8th December, 1806. [Dated on the outside, April 28, 1806. ] " Having occasion to use the laws of the Michigan Territory passed since the reassembling the governor and judges this summer, and particularly the law respecting the erection of a bank. " I request you to be pleased to cause copies to be forwarded, as soon as convenient. " " I have the honor to be, &c, (Signed), "James Madison. " Governor Hull.
