GENERAL ORDER FOR THE MILITIA OF THE INDIANA TERRITORY.1.
Detroit, 10 May, 1803.
The Commander-in-Chief having received instructions from the President of the United States to organize and discipline the militia of the territory, he flatters himself with the expectation of receiving from the several grades which compose the militia of his government all the assistance which is necessary to enable him to carry those instructions into effect, It is expected from the officers that they will take every opportunity which the law allows, to train and instruct their men in the duties of a soldier, and to infuse into them principles of order and
