inconsiderable amount, of course, so far, is this County entitled to the particular attention and protection of Government; whereas, all the counties on the Ohio, Wabash, and Mississippi yield very little or no revenue to the Public, another motive which in our humble opinion claims the attention of Congress is our Frontier situation, separated by a small river only from a powerful, wealthy, and ambitious Nation, accustomed for many years to engross the commerce of peltry, and which sees with a jealous eye the growing prosperity of the United States.
