Father Winter

As they approached Buffalo the road grew worse and worse; cut up by the heavy army wagons, of which they saw several drawn by four and six horses, with mud literally " up to the hub. " Five miles from the village they passed an army encampment, and saw that the soldiers were getting ready to move, but which way, we are not informed. Once Mr. Winter had to hire an ox team to get his wagon out of a mudhole.
