1845-6, he was register of deeds for this county, and county treasurer from 1849 to 1854. He was a prominent Mason, being a member of Kalamazoo Commandery of Knights Templar. For several years he was cashier of the First National Bank of this village, and since his retirement from that institution he has been engaged in the milling business, and in the manufacture and sale of lumber and staves.
