Knagg's Bridge, purchasing his land from the government. A part of the farm at that time was occupied by the remains of an old Indian village, and an old log cabin which was used by them as a school-house, was used by himself and family, and the families of Leonard Gaylord and Henry Wolcott, who located in the neighborhood at about that time.
