Mr. Martin was a subscriber to the first paper published in the county, and has been a subscriber to the Owosso Press and Detroit Free Press from their first existence. In 1848 Mr. Martin was married to Mary Ann Beach, daughter of Lucius and Abbey Beach, and sister of Mrs. Irene H. Gould and Mrs. W. K. Tillotson. His wife died in a few years, and he subsequently married Martha Hoyt,
