for eight years, in which capacity he did much to build up the educational interests of the county. He also served as a member of the Michigan State Board of Health. For many years he was prelate of the 'St. Bernard Commandery, No. 16, K. T., of this city, and held other high offices in that order. He was also a member of the State Pioneer Society.
He was married twice and now has living a wife and five children.
