MRS. ESTHER MANN

Mrs. Esther Mann, familiarly known as "Grandma Mann, " died at the-residence of her son, in Montcalm, on Wednesday, February 11, 1885, aged eighty-seven years, four months and nineteen days. The deceased was born in the State of New York, September 23, 1797, or-two years before Washington died. Having been permitted to live beyond the allotted age of man, she had seen many changes since her acquaintance with the world. She came to Michigan thirty-eight years ago. Although her life had been one of struggle with the toils of pioneer life, her last days-were quiet and peaceful. She often expressed herself as willing to go when. the messenger called. Her illness was brief, and her death as quiet and. peaceful as though she simply sank to rest in sleep. —Greenville Democrat.
