from Major Soule, Surgeon Chase and other comrades, asking him to meet them at Battle Creek reunion in August. At first it seemed as if impossible for him to do so, but the thought of again meeting with old comrades acted as a tonic on both mind and body, and for a few days previous to going and while there he seemed so much stronger than he had done for months, we trusted the change might be permanent and health again be his, but our hopes were soon disappointed.
