GEORGE F. STRONG.

Geo. F. Strong, an old and greatly esteemed resident of this city, died at his home on Chestnut street, on Tuesday afternoon, April 14, after a painful illness of about three weeks' duration. Mr. Strong was born in England, in 1813, and came to this country with his parents when a lad five years of age. He was apprenticed to a New York gbook-binder, with whom he remained until twenty-one years of age, after which he was for several years engaged with binding establishments in that and Boston as journeyman and foreman. In 1857 he removed to Lan sing and connected himself with the State printing house. Six weeks after his arrival he was promoted to the foremanship of the bindery, a position which he ably filled for a quarter of a century, enjoying alike the confidence and highest respect of his employers and brother workmen.
