Conspiracy of Pontiac
The Seige of Detriot
They arrived so late at Mackinac that Rogers thought it imprudent to send the Frenchmen back that fall; but the latter said they would try it, and, if stopped by the ice, would secure the boats and continue their journey by land. They had the good fortune, however, to reach Detroit in safety.
Very few Indians were killed during the war. An Ottawa, before mentioned, and a Wyandotte (by a cannon ball) were the only persons whom St. Aubin knew to be killed on that side.
