Conspiracy of Pontiac
The Seige of Detriot
Pontiac proposed to Major Campbell to leave the fort, and come out to him and have a talk. Although many of the old French people, who had taken refuge in the fort, among them old Mr. Chovin and Mr. Grouin, advised Major Campbell not to go out, yet he did so. He was accompanied by Mr. McDougall (the father of Col. McDougall) and one of his officers, and by an interpreter, Mr. LaButte, and some of the Frenchmen from the fort.
