THE PIONEERS OF BELLEVUE
You will observe that we followed this bear into three counties—Calhoun, Eaton, and Barry—-where he was shot. We cut a pole, hung the bear on it, formed a procession, and bore bruin's remains in triumph into Bellevue, where he was dressed and his carcass out into small pieces, and anybody who wanted a taste of bear meat had their wants supplied.
