One of the early pioneers of Bellevue was David Lucas, a chair maker by trade, and also a great lover of sport—the stories and anecdotes that could be told about Mr. L. would fill a large volume—in fact, he turned almost everything into fun, and where he did not make it directly himself, he would make it through others.
