I told a young man who lived with me to go as fast as possible and give said Anderson notice, and I give the Indians some refreshment to detain them. They took out their large knife and stuck it in the floor, saying, "That is to cut off his hands. " They treated me harshly and called me a dog and a Big Knife, &c, as I had light colored hair.
