Proclamation.
Head quarters, Sandwich, 13th Sept'r, 1813.
His Excellency, Sir George Prevort, Governor in Chief, having authorized the officers commanding the troops in the Upper Province to execute martial law in such District or part thereof, in which it may be found advisable, or necessary to resort to that measure: I do hereby, by virtue of the authority above mentioned, proclaim, and direct, that the same shall immediately take effect, as far as supplying the wants of the troops under any plan or the sending away or apprehending all traitorous or disaffected persons may
render expedient.
